"Hush Hush" is the second of the two books I purchased on Monday (the first being "Fallen"), and by the end of Thursday, I had finished both. "Hush Hush" has a similar kind of storyline to "Fallen," the main character of the story being female, the love interest being a dark and mysterious boy who no-one seems to have any past information on, and ... oh yeah. He's a fallen angel.
To be honest with you, I actually enjoyed this novel more than I did "Fallen," which is saying something, because I really, REALLY enjoyed "Fallen." It may be because I felt like I could relate more to Nora Grey than I could Luce Price, or it could just be the fact that Becca Fitzpatrick has her own kind of persuasive, reader-sucking writing style. All I know is, she had me from the first page and I was going to be damned if I dragged the reading of her novel over more than two days.
I guess I actually feel like I can relate to Nora's best friend Vee Sky more than I can to Nora. Like Vee, I'm tall, slightly more than curvy (though I have a serious lack of curves in the chest area), and I've got a best friend who tends to get more male attention. That, and I'm the one who drives everywhere. *sigh*
At least I don't get stalked and bashed up in a cemetery.
Patch Cipriano, the mysterious new guy, becomes Nora's biology partner when Coach decides to change the class seating plan for their new topic of study - human reproduction. Their first assignment with their new partners is to spend the lesson finding out as much about the other person as possible and to gather all the information to present to Coach in a write-up the next day. Patch proves to be a difficult participant, leading Nora to places and situations she wouldn't normally find herself in.
The entire novel is a lot darker than "Fallen," and contains quite a few more scary mishaps, our heroine caught between what she feels is right but thinks is wrong, and what she just knows is wrong.
Contains mystery, scary thrills, demons from other worlds, and one forbidden love that conquers all.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
